New major projects list has some Indigenous buy-in, Carney says OKs still needed
The Major Projects Office integrates Indigenous advisory input and UNDRIP to guide federal approvals, with 94% emissions reductions pledged for key projects, officials said.
- 1- Canada’s latest round of Major Projects Office referrals includes several projects with Indigenous backing, after none were selected in the first round. 2- Fast-track list features the Crawford nickel mine in Ontario and the Ksi Lisims LNG project on British Columbia’s northwest coast. 3- The North Coast Transmission Line is also included, intended to power regional developments such as the Ksi Lisims LNG facility.
