UNITED STATES, AUG 7 – A coalition of 50+ state attorneys general sent warning letters to 37 telecom companies for failing to comply with Federal Communications Commission rules on illegal robocall mitigation.
- On Thursday, Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey announced the launch of Operation Robocall Roundup, issuing warning letters to 37 telecom companies.
- Amid growing public frustration over robocalls, the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force traces its origins to 2022 under leaders Jeff Jackson, Todd Rokita and Dave Yost.
- Sending letters to 99 downstream voice providers, the task force extends enforcement beyond primary carriers after 37 providers failed to comply with FCC traceback requests and mitigation database requirements.
- Yesterday, the task force removed seven providers from the Robocall Mitigation Database to prevent other providers from routing calls through those networks.

As part of this initiative, Raoul and 50 other attorneys general are sending letters to 37 voice providers demanding immediate action to stop illegal robocalls being routed through their networks. In addition to the 37 companies, Raoul and the task force are sending letters to 100 “downstream providers” that accept call traffic from those companies.
