New Chelsea Signing Suspended by Current Club Before Upcoming Blues Move

On Saturday, RC Strasbourg Alsace suspended captain Emmanuel Emegha for one game after the club said he breached its values, meaning he will miss the Ligue 1 trip to Toulouse.
According to French sports daily L'Equipe, the sanction followed a post-match interview last month where Emmanuel Emegha implied Strasbourg’s defeats this year were due to his absence and also mistakenly thought the club was in Germany.
After a 14-goal season and 27 appearances, Emegha has been confirmed to join Chelsea in 2026 following his breakout campaign.
Sections of the Strasbourg ultras booed and protested after Emegha's Chelsea move, unfurling a banner reading `Emegha, pawn of BlueCo.`, while Liam Rosenior criticised the banners and discussed Emegha's attitude.
The club said he will be reinstated for the Europa Conference League trip to Aberdeen and is expected back next week, highlighting fan discontent linked to BlueCo's multi-club ownership.
