Netflix eyes global Inbetweeners revival after 16-year TV absence
Netflix is reportedly finalizing a multi-million-pound agreement to revive The Inbetweeners as a movie, bringing the comedy back to screens for the first time in 16 years.
Series creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris repurchased the franchise rights, striking an agreement with production companies Banijay UK and Fudge Park Productions to unlock new development potential.
Original cast members Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison have expressed interest in reprising their roles, with Emily Atack also keen to return as Charlotte "Big Jugs" Hinchliffe.
Creators Morris and Beesley confirmed the project will not feature an entirely new cast, stating it is "incredibly exciting to be plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends ."
After enjoying a renaissance on the platform, Netflix is pursuing the project to expand the comedy to households around the globe, capitalizing on renewed interest among global audiences.
