Weeklong strike averted as Montreal blue-collar workers, city reach tentative deal
The City of Montreal and the union representing the city's blue-collar workers say they've reached an agreement in principle on a new collective agreement. That means a weeklong strike that was set to begin Tuesday and last until Sept. 28 has been cancelled.
The strike scheduled for September 22-28, during the World Cycling Championships, is therefore suspended.
