Samford, UNA fall in baseball conference title games

North Alabama and Samford both ended up one win short of baseball conference tournament championships on Saturday.The Lions fell 5-4 in 10 innings to Lipscomb in the Atlantic Sun title game in DeLand, Fla., while the Bulldogs lost 3-1 to The Citadel in the Southern Conference championship contest in Greenville, S.C. Instead of advancing to NCAA Regionals, the season is over for both UNA (31-28) and Samford (31-25).

The Citadel completed a 5-0 run through the Southern Conference Tournament, culminating in a 3-1 over Samford for the championship in Greenville and giving it an automatic berth in the NCAA regionals.
