An Indonesian police chief has been arrested after the Australian Federal Police traced child abuse material to the province of East Nusa Tenggara.

Investigations are ongoing against Fajar Widyadharma Lukman, the police chief of Ngada regency in East Nusa Tenggara province, who allegedly assaulted four children aged three to 14 last June.

The Propam Division of the National Police Headquarters will hold a hearing of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) for the former Ngada Police Chief, AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman Sumaatmaja, in the near future. Fajar is considered to have violated the code of ethics in a serious category and is threatened with dismissal.

Komnas HAM is urging that former Ngada Police Chief, AKBP Fajar Widyadharma, be subject to ethical and criminal sanctions for alleged drug abuse and child molestation.
