MYANMAR Easter in Mandalay amid the displaced and the rubble of the earthquake

Three weeks after the earthquake that devastated Mandalay and the center of Myanmar, the Church remains close to the faithful and the victims, offering material and spiritual support. While many churches remain unusable, Holy Week is celebrated in camps for displaced persons and in parish halls. Maximilian, a Caritas volunteer, says that in destruction and pain, “people support each other”, in a true experience of rebirth.
