Partial victory for cannabis smokers: In one part of the English Garden, consumption is now allowed. In the other part, fines continue to threaten.
The Bayerische Verwaltungsgerichtshof has decided that from now on the English Garden can be stoned – at least in the northern part. Two citizens from the surrounding area of Munich had filed an urgent complaint.
The entire ban, which has been in force so far, is provisionally lifted by the urgent decision. Cannabis is banned in the southern part as well as in the courtyard and financial garden until further notice.
Cannabis consumption is temporarily permitted in the northern part of Munich's English Garden. The Bavarian Administrative Court made this decision in a ruling on Monday, as it announced on Tuesday. However, the consumption of cannabis products remains prohibited in the southern part of the park, as well as in the Hofgarten and Finanzgarten.
