- Three men, including two lecturers and their friend, were arrested on July 5 in Bengaluru for repeatedly sexually assaulting a female student.
- The student was lured to Bengaluru by a lecturer promising academic help and later confided in her family, who involved the Karnataka State Women's Commission.
- The assaults began when Narendra took the student to a friend's apartment where the abuse occurred multiple times amid threats and blackmail using video footage.
- Joint Commissioner Ramesh Banoth confirmed the arrests and said, "we have arrested three individuals," following the FIR registered after the complaint.
- The police filed a chargesheet and continue investigating while gathering digital and forensic evidence, indicating ongoing legal proceedings in the case.
