Ms. Rachel Matches Macklemore’s $1 Million Gaza Donation and Challenges Hollywood to Act
The children’s YouTube creator said the money will support humanitarian organizations serving Palestinians in Gaza, including the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
YouTube creator Rachel Accurso announced she will match Macklemore's $1 million donation to the Palestine Children Relief Fund, stating, "I invite every wealthy white celebrity to match it and speak out against the genocide in Gaza."
Last week, the "Thrift Shop" singer was fired from the Loop tour for supporting a Free Palestine; on September 16, Macklemore pledged to split his $1 million earnings among six organizations working with Palestinians.
Macklemore challenged Robert Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium and the New England Patriots, to match the donation; Kraft later claimed Sheeran asked him to match a $2 million donation.
Rachel Accurso and her husband, Aron Accurso, cited a moral obligation to protect children, noting over 20,000 Palestinian children have been killed and continue to die daily.
Since Macklemore was fired, all of Sheeran's openers have quit the Loop tour, with artists withdrawing participation in response to the situation in Palestine.
