Motorcyclist in 50s Dies Following Collision in Limerick
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, died at the scene after colliding with a car on the R519; the female driver was unharmed, Gardaí said.
- A motorcyclist in his 50s died after a crash on the R519 at Ballykevin, near Kilmeedy, at around 4pm on Sunday, November 16, and was taken to University Hospital Limerick's mortuary.
- Road closures preserved the scene for forensic work as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators partially closed the road with local diversions between the R520 at Ballykevin and Kilmeedy village on Sunday.
- The car's driver, an adult female, was assessed at the scene and did not require immediate hospital treatment, while An Garda Síochána appealed for road users with camera or dashcam footage to assist investigators.
- The collision increases this year's road death toll to 158 and follows a Co Louth crash on Saturday that killed five young people and injured three others.
- An Garda Síochána appealed to witnesses and dashcam providers to contact Newcastle West Garda Station on 069 20 650 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 as the local coroner has been notified.
