On Thursday 29 May 2025, the Dominican authorities intercepted 29 undocumented Haitian nationals in Santo Domingo, while trying to escape military checkpoints set up to combat illegal immigration. According to the authorities, the migrants, mostly young, were located in a sensitive area while trying to circumvent the established controls.
