EPFO Wage Ceiling Raised to INR 25,000: How PF Deduction, EPS Pension and EDLI Cover Change

The central government has raised the salary threshold for mandatory EPFO coverage from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000. The change, effective September 17, could cover more than 5.1 million additional employees. Employees earning ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 will receive pension and insurance coverage, along with PF savings, as per regulations. According to the government, the estimated expenditure is ₹11,339 crore.
