The number of Dutch households with problematic debts has increased significantly in recent decades. In the 1990s, this was still around 250,000 households. In 2025, this number will have risen to more than 730,000. Despite improvements on paper, the debt problem remains deeply rooted and structural. Young people, single people, tenants and people with uncertain incomes in particular are in financial trouble, Metro reports.
During April, the levels of financial late payment reached record figures. Balances in credit cards reached their highest point in three years, and personal loans recorded their highest level of defaults in the last nine months, reflecting the deterioration in the purchasing power of Argentine households.
