For the first time in twelve years, fewer Dutch people are looking to buy a home. Young adults with a lower income who want to buy their first home are dropping out in particular. They are becoming discouraged by the overheated housing market, with little supply and historically high prices, according to a study by Rabobank.
With current values, it is becoming more and more complex to acquire a house, because the credits that are granted to workers are insufficient to have a roof of their own, said real estate advisor Hugo Zurbia Flores. Precisely, facing this scenario, he said, the Infonavit has the Unamos Crédito program that gives the possibility for two people without legal relationship, that is, family or friends, to pool their financings to acquire a property.
