MoonPay and Dunamu to Collaborate on Global Digital Asset Financial Infrastructure
The companies will assess whether stablecoins can support cross-border payments, corporate finance and GIWA-based services before deciding on implementation.
- On Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, MoonPay and South Korean crypto exchange operator Dunamu announced a strategic collaboration to explore stablecoin-based global payments, corporate finance, and GIWA blockchain ecosystem expansion.
- The partnership leverages MoonPay's global network serving more than 35 million customers and 1,500 enterprise clients, while Dunamu brings GIWA, an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain developed using the OP Stack.
- "For stablecoins to function as global financial infrastructure, it is important," said Bugeon Lee, Head of APAC at MoonPay, as the companies plan to examine cross-border fund transfers and commercial requirements.
- As the partnership remains exploratory, neither company disclosed financial terms or a launch schedule, with both firms assessing the technical and commercial viability of proposed services before implementation.
- Dunamu has previously pursued arrangements with Visa, Hana Financial Group, and POSCO International to process trade transactions and remittances using GIWA, positioning the MoonPay collaboration within its broader blockchain expansion strategy.
