Monarch Place cleaners fear job loss

SPRINGFIELD — The owner of the Monarch Place office tower is switching cleaning companies and 14 union members fear they’ll be out of work as of May 1 when the new, nonunion contractor comes in.

Organizational review leads to job loss

A “right-sizing” strategy mandated by the provincial government a couple of years ago has led to layoffs at Highland Shores Children’s Aid. At a recent Highland Shores Board of Directors meeting Executive Director Jess Uddenberg announced that after an organizational review 9 people have been laid off.  Over 300 people work for the organization.
