Henny used his mixed martial arts training and faith to control the intruder without weapons, leading to the suspect’s arrest and a $20,000 bond, officials said.
- On Sept. 27 in Wilton Manors, trained mixed martial artist Henny Rojas subdued an intruder in his family’s home, confronting the stranger inside the living room.
- The intruder, 31-year-old Austin Carasani, said he had been drinking and mistakenly entered the wrong home while trying to reach a friend’s house.
- Trained for three years, Henny Rojas used boxing, wrestling and kick techniques to subdue the intruder and said, `I don't have guns; I wasn't looking for a knife- just God and my hands, that's it`.
- As of Tuesday, Carasani appeared before a judge on Monday, was charged with home invasion, and remains in Broward County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
- Rojas said he would not change a thing and that he acted to protect his family, adding `I don't feel pain- nothing`, while neighbors described the chaotic scene.
