Hyderabad Couple Disappear After Telling Daughters They Were Flying to Switzerland; Police Probe Alleged ₹50-Crore Chit Fund Scam
Police are verifying travel and banking records as they investigate claims the couple collected nearly Rs 50 crore from more than 60 investors.
Hyderabad-Based businessman Pabba Chandrasekhar and his wife Swapna went missing during a vacation in Switzerland after departing on June 22, with police unable to confirm whether they ever boarded a flight.
Before leaving India, the couple allegedly collected nearly Rs 50 crore from more than 60 investors by promising attractive returns, citing personal and business-related financial requirements.
Their daughter, 23-year-old software professional Shreya, approached police to register a missing persons case after both parents became unreachable following July 8, with repeated contact attempts failing.
Investigators are now scrutinizing the couple's travel itineraries, immigration records, and financial transactions to establish a clear timeline of events and verify their entry into Switzerland.
Officials clarified that no formal cheating case has been registered against the couple yet, though authorities are keeping all possibilities open, including voluntary disappearance or financial motive.
