- The scheme, launched in 2019, aims to supplement small and marginal farmers' financial needs by providing ₹6,000 annually in three ₹2,000 installments via direct bank transfers.
- The PM-KISAN scheme has transferred over ₹3.69 trillion to farmers across 19 previous payments and incorporates digital innovations such as face recognition for e-KYC and an AI-powered chatbot to improve accessibility and transparency.
- The Agriculture Minister emphasized that the government prioritizes farmers' welfare and announced support measures including a ₹1.75 lakh crore fertiliser subsidy and access to affordable credit through the Kisan Credit Card program.
- The scheme has strengthened farmers' income and risk-taking capacity, and its expanding reach reflects continued government commitment to improving agricultural livelihoods across India.
