Trump to Rally with Oklahoma GOP Gubernatorial Nominee Mike Mazzei in Durant
Trump’s visit is aimed at boosting Republicans as the governor’s race enters its final weeks, with Mazzei traveling statewide ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
On Thursday, President Donald Trump rallied at the Choctaw Event Center in Durant, Oklahoma, to campaign for Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Mazzei, hours after Mazzei taped his debate with Democratic nominee Cyndi Munson.
Republican strategists targeted Durant to mobilize voters across the 12 counties in the Sherman-Ada media market, a shared Oklahoma-Texas region where Mazzei previously won by large margins.
Trump thanked Oklahoma voters for support in 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections, saying "You have to give back, too," while Mazzei stated, "I want every Oklahoman to have a great job and be able to afford a home."
An Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll released Thursday found 26% of adults approve of Trump's economic handling, while 17% approve of his cost of living management, with some Republicans voicing price concerns.
With the November 3 midterm elections approaching, Trump is visiting Republican-leaning states to boost turnout, aiming to help GOP candidates maintain control of Congress.
