Microsoft is upgrading the backend infrastructure for Microsoft 365 intelligent services and requires users to update Office to version 16.0.18827.20202 or later to continue using features like Read Aloud, Audio Transcription, and Dictation. Enterprises must manually update their administrators, while individual users will automatically update by default. Support for older versions will end in January 2026.
