MHP issues more than 5,100 citations over Labor Day holiday - Mississippi's Best Community Newspaper

JACKSON – The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) concluded the 2025 Labor Day Holiday Travel Period on Monday,  September 1, at midnight. The travel period began on Friday, August 29, at 6 a.m. The Mississippi Highway Patrol issued a total of 5,152 citations, made 92 arrests for impaired driving, and cited 617 motorists for occupant restraint violations. MHP also investigated 159 crashes resulting in 43 injuries, with 3 fatal crashes and 3 deaths.…
