The Organization of American States (OAS) yesterday endorsed a joint statement to demand that Nicaragua hold elections and unconditionally release political prisoners. Mexico sidestepped the U.S.-led stance and expressed its categorical rejection of “any attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of other states.”
