Metal Detector Company Releases Specialized Detector for Crime Scene Investigation

On Jan. 27, 2026, Garrett Metal Detectors announced from Garland, Texas that the Vortex CSI is available for sale and worldwide shipment as a standalone detector or within the Vortex CSI Field Kit.
Revitalizing its CSI line, Garrett said the Vortex CSI was designed to meet crime-scene needs with specialized modes and features. Steve Novakovich, CEO, stated `Garrett has been serving crime scene investigators since before we had a Security division`.
The detector features a USB-C rechargeable battery with 15-hour life, Auto Ground Balance, and is waterproof to 16 feet using Garrett's MD-MF technology, said Steve Novakovich.
Garrett says the Vortex CSI will empower officers and technicians worldwide to identify critical metallic evidence when paired with the recently released PRO-Pointer AT Blackline Edition, and the company urged customers to buy genuine products for quality and security.
Developed and protected at Garrett's Garland, Texas facility, the Vortex CSI and PRO-Pointer include patent and trademark protections and are produced under ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001:2018 standards with all-new software.
