Met Police officer who shot Chris Kaba in south London unlikely to face further action
The armed Metropolitan Police officer who shot Chris Kaba was acquitted by an Old Bailey jury after three hours of deliberation.
Following the acquittal, Scotland Yard reinstated the officer to his police duties.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct decided to withdraw all ongoing disciplinary proceedings against the officer in the interest of fairness after the legal threshold for prosecution was raised.
A government review completed in October announced changes to align the law governing police conduct, raising the legal test for prosecution.
