Germany's Merz accuses far-right AfD of calling for 'ethnic cleansing'

Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz has accused the AfD of failing to comply with their electoral promises. In the general debate, Merz talked largely about the AfD – and about foreign policy and climate protection.
The German Chancellor then pointed out that the expulsion of illegal migrants is a consensus in the government.
"Your emigration is nothing but ethnic cleansing." German Chancellor Freidrich Merz said, speaking to the Bundestag immediately after the leader of Afd Alice Weidel attacked him saying that the government is over. (ANSA)
The leader of the extreme right speaks of Germany "brought to a record time to failure" with an "unconstitutional" maneuver. He accuses Europe: "We want our money back." The chancellor replied: "You are and remain, Mrs Weidel, a destructive force. Remigration is ethnic cleansing."
