Meriden turmoil: How we got here and what happens next

The York Way parade of shops has been the most contentious area of the Meriden estate. A planned £36 million regeneration involving more than 100 new homes was green lit in 2015. Construction company Mulalley and Co was appointed to carry out the plans in 2018. It included 131 homes for affordable or social rent, a 50-bed extra care facility for elderly people, retail space, green space and two homes for shared ownership.
