Mercer Islanders display generosity at food drive

Mercer Island Rising United for Democracy hosted a food and grocery store gift card drive in response to the federal government withholding SNAP funding for two hours on Nov. 14. Generous shoppers at the north end QFC donated more than $1,330 and a carload of groceries and supplies.
