Anže Lanišek won the World Cup race in Zakopane on Sunday with two excellent jumps. Despite heavy snowfall and challenging conditions, the Slovenian ace outpaced all his competitors, and after the race he once again impressed the Polish fans and also explained that he will miss the next competition cycle in Sapporo.
President Karol Nawrocki visited Zakopane today to watch ski jumpers compete in the World Cup. For Kamil Stoch, a legend of Polish ski jumping, this was his last appearance at Wielka Krokiew. The president was accompanied by First Lady Marta and their children, son Antek and daughter Kasia.
The individual World Cup competition in Zakopane, held in a snowstorm, was full of surprises. Kamil Stoch failed to advance to the second round, and Domen Prevc finished only 27th. Another Slovenian, Anże Lanisek, won.
