Men stole £12k of Ann Summers lingerie and sex toys

Police recovered £12,059 of stolen Ann Summers products and linked Kamal to a separate Arnold burglary involving about £13,000 in electronics.

  • On Thursday, Nottingham Crown Court sentenced Jason Kamal, 48, to three years' custody and Ashley Hillsley, 21, to a community order for the Ann Summers burglary on August 14.
  • Police arrested the pair within three minutes of a 4:32am burglary report after they smashed a window at the Ann Summers store in Long Row, Nottingham, and fled with £12,059 in goods.
  • Kamal was linked to an earlier burglary at Professional Mobile in Arnold on July 28, where he left a vape bearing his DNA and was found using a phone stolen from the store.
  • Hillsley claimed he was 'bullied into the burglary' and acted as lookout after being promised a large sum of money and told he would no longer be 'a nobody.'
  • Chief Inspector Kylie Davies of Nottinghamshire Police called them 'not mastermind criminals,' stating that evidence left them with 'no other option than to plead guilty' in court.
