Melbourne’s New Metro Tunnel Will ‘Soft Open’ in Early December Before Full Services in February

- The Big Switch will start February 1 next year, adding 1,000 new weekly services and transforming Melbourne's rail network for the first time in more than four decades.
- Amid regulator checks, only the main Town Hall station entrance will open in December while the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator's sign-off is still pending, Allan said.
