McTominay Cleared to Return, Napoli Say
The 29-year-old Scotland international is fit to play after further tests, giving Napoli a selection boost ahead of Saturday’s match.
On Wednesday, Napoli confirmed midfielder Scott McTominay is cleared to resume competitive football after undergoing a procedure to correct a heart arrhythmia. He has rejoined team training after working separately.
The 29-year-old Scotland international underwent a planned ablation procedure at Manchester's Spire Hospital in September after being diagnosed with a mild, benign arrhythmia. This required him to step away from team activities.
During his absence, McTominay missed a 3-2 Serie A defeat against reigning champions Inter Milan and a Champions League loss to Arsenal. He has not played since August 30.
The former Manchester United midfielder has resumed training and is now available for selection by coach Massimiliano Allegri. His return provides timely reinforcement for the squad.
Napoli, currently ninth in the Serie A standings, host sixth-placed Frosinone on Saturday. This fixture provides the first opportunity for McTominay to feature in the Partenopei lineup.
