A new art and awareness campaign, titled "#Siolence," is aimed at combating violence against women. Photographed by artist Elfie Semotan, the campaign aims to "turn away from the usual, brutal iconography" and instead "focus on that paralyzing silence in which violence occurs, grows, and endures," as stated at the launch on Thursday. "Siolence" is a combination of "silence" and "violence."
On a visit to Nancy on Thursday 5 June, Aurore Bergé, Minister for Equality between Women and Men, launched a mechanism allowing women victims of violence to file complaints directly from the hospital. An agreement was signed with the CHRU.
