Italy arrests over 500 in nationwide operation targeting youth crime
Police identify nearly 1,000 social media accounts promoting hatred, violence during raids across 44 provinces
Over 1,000 police officers carried out raids, drugs, weapons and hundreds of thousands of euros were seized
The State Police has concluded an extensive police operation, which has involved 44 provinces, to combat youth crime. The activity, coordinated by the Central Operations Service, has focused on young people dedicated, in groups or individually, to crimes against the person, the heritage or in the matter of drugs and weapons, as well as illegal behaviour that also leads to forms of discrimination and hatred.
The activity was coordinated by the Central Operational Service. Among those arrested, 47 are minors; 954 have been reported, 703 kilos of drugs seized, 1182 controlled buildings
