KKR Pick Luvnith Sisodia as Replacement for Injured Matheesha Pathirana | Sports-Games
Luvnith Sisodia has 15 T20s for Karnataka and has not played an IPL match, while KKR lose Matheesha Pathirana to a hamstring injury.
On Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders announced the signing of wicketkeeper-batter Luvnith Sisodia as a replacement for injured Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana, hours before their 70th IPL match against Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens.
Pathirana was ruled out for the remainder of the tournament after sustaining a hamstring injury while bowling 1.2 overs against Gujarat Titans, a significant loss given KKR's INR 18 crore investment in the Sri Lankan pacer.
Sisodia brings 124 runs across 15 T20s to the squad, joining as the franchise also manages the absence of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who contributed 422 runs this season before being ruled out.
Team management is weighing tactical options between Sisodia and rookie Tejasvi Dahiya to manage wicketkeeping duties, with Dahiya having debuted as a concussion substitute during the recent clash against Mumbai Indians.
These roster adjustments arrive as KKR fights to keep playoff hopes alive amid recurring fitness concerns. The squad previously lost bowlers Harshit Rana and Akash Deep, while Varun Chakravarthy plays through a nagging injury.
