The Osefos are charged with felony insurance fraud for falsely reporting a $450,000 burglary at their Maryland home while burdened by substantial debt, officials said.

- The couple claimed someone broke into their home in April 2024 and stole items worth over $200,000, but police found no signs of forced entry and discovered Wendy wore some reported stolen jewelry on social media.
- Some of the reported stolen items were found at their home during the arrest, and e-mail receipts were discovered to be false, leading the State's Attorney to say 'insurance fraud affects all of us in the form of increased premiums.
