President Claudia Sheinbaum reported that until yesterday morning there was no damage to the national territory following the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Russia on Tuesday, which generated warning from a possible tsunami on the coasts of the Mexican Pacific.
The Ministry of the Navy of Mexico reported that the decision was taken "based on the assessment of the sea level on the Mexican coast and areas close to the epicenter."
The State Coordination of Civil Protection and Risk Management (CEPCyGR) informs the population that the tsunami alert has been cancelled for the Mexican Pacific. The largest swell was recorded on the beaches of Manzanillo, Colima and Ensenada, Baja California shortly after 6 a.m., while in the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca the rise in sea level was minimal.
