Three public universities in Ohio announced job and program cuts in March. They were joined by public and private institutions coast to coast in making workforce reductions. March brought layoffs, buyouts and the elimination of multiple academic programs as universities sought to plug budget holes wrought by sector challenges and state budget issues.
