MANITOBA, CANADA, JUL 13 – Minister Nahanni Fontaine will undergo Deaf culture training and appoint a Deaf advisor while hiring ASL interpreters for government to improve accessibility, officials said.

  • On June 26 in Winnipeg, Minister Nahanni Fontaine was caught on hot mic saying `why the F are you on the stage?` during a ceremony, with Aboriginal Peoples Television Network releasing the footage.
  • While preparing to speak to reporters, the minister, Fontaine, told her staff she was thrown off and `'F--k, why did I have her on the stage?'`.
