Manhunt under way after double murder in Glasgow
Police say a knife may have been used as detectives continue a double murder probe and appeal for witnesses after extensive CCTV checks.
On Wednesday, Police Scotland confirmed the deaths of Paul Lafferty, 50, and Gary Beaton, 54, are being treated as murder after post-mortem examinations following their discovery at a Chancellor Street flat in Partick on Sunday, August 16.
Emergency services arrived at the property around 4:40pm on Sunday, August 16, where both men were pronounced dead at the scene with serious injuries, prompting authorities to establish a large cordon covering Chancellor Street, Elie Street, and Dowanhill Street.
Senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Cheryl Kelly of the Major Investigation Team appealed for information from anyone in the Partick area near Chancellor Street from Friday, August 14, onward, as investigators have reviewed hours of CCTV footage.
Superintendent Craig Brady extended sympathies to the families of Lafferty and Beaton, noting the "significant impact" on the local community while confirming high visibility patrols remain in the area and officers are available for public concerns.
Authorities established a Major Incident Public Portal for direct information submission; witnesses can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1386 of Sunday, August 16, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
