Man gets fine for not paying €2.20 parking fee, but keeps €2,000

A fine for 2.20 euros in unpaid parking fees led to a ‘fine soap opera’ in Amersfoort that has been dragging on for six years. After an avalanche of lawsuits, the motorist is proven wrong by the court of appeal, but he does not go home empty-handed: the Dutch state must pay the fined motorist 2000 euros.
