In the early hours of Monday, a car crashed into the façade of the town hall (Compagnieshuis) in Hoogeveen, igniting a fire shortly after the collision, RTV Drenthe reports. The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m.Emergency services quickly extinguished the blaze. Police subsequently arrested a 42-year-old man from Elim, a village within the Hoogeveen municipality, near the Raadhuisplein. He is being held on suspicion of arson and vandalism.
