Man killed in Sunday night shooting, 22nd homicide this year in Stockton

Stockton’s homicide lull was shattered Sunday night when a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound near Kennedy Elementary School, north of downtown. The man later died, police said. The shooting occurred about 9 p.m. in the 8600 block of Santa Paula Way. Officers responded to a report that a man was unresponsive, only to find when they arrived that he had been shot.
