The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says a review has begun into ways to strengthen security measures and safety protocols after an officer and civilian employee of the force were allegedly assaulted outside police headquarters in St. John’s Friday morning.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a serious incident outside RNC Headquarters this morning. RNC responded after a man assaulted a civilian employee outside the building around 7:00 this morning. A responding officer was also injured in the altercation.
