Man Arrested After Pepper Spray Attack at Heathrow

A 31-year-old man was arrested after 21 people were affected by pepper spray during a suitcase robbery in Heathrow Terminal 3's car park, police said.

  • On Sunday, armed Metropolitan Police were called to Heathrow Airport's Terminal 3 multi-storey car park at 8.11am after multiple people were assaulted and sprayed with suspected pepper spray, arresting a 31-year-old man within nine minutes.

  • Scotland Yard said the episode is not being treated as terrorism and on Monday the force reported two further arrests while appealing for witnesses to call 101 quoting CAD 1803 7 DEC.
  • Passengers were warned to allow extra time and check with their airline as Heathrow Airport, Europe's busiest, served over 80 million passengers last year; a three-year-old girl was treated and five people were discharged after hospital visits.
