- On Aug. 8, Pamela Warner revealed on Instagram her son Malcolm-Jamal Warner did not suffer during his drowning in Costa Rica on July 20.
- Entering the sea at Playa Grande de Cocles on July 20, Warner was swept away by a current, and authorities ruled his cause of death as asphyxiation by submersion.
- In her Instagram tribute, Pamela Warner described him as "an exceptional husband, father, and son — a man deeply in love with life, his wife, and his daughter," and added he was "a kind, loving man with a huge heart for humanity," Pamela Warner wrote.
- On August 6, Pamela Warner launched the Malcolm-Jamal Warner Living Legacy Instagram account, calling it the official memorial and promising updates ahead.
- Following the Instagram memorial account launch, Palos outlined plans for a tribute event between the end of this year and early 2026, reported by People Magazine.
