Many adjustments are challenged due to the lack of calm debates about their advantages and their disadvantages. Democracy would benefit from an adversarial and well-founded assessment of their impacts, precautions or necessary waivers. This is the role of environmental authorities, at the local or national level, but their non-binding opinions are mostly ignored.
