Madison School Board boosts its pay, but votes down health insurance coverage

The board's pay will rise to $15,000 annually, but health insurance coverage was rejected due to an estimated $194,600 annual cost, officials said.

“On a more personal level … I want to believe when I look at all of my colleagues, we’re not running for the stipend,” Nichols said. “We’re running because we care deeply about this district.”
